Bay Area alternative rap artist Rexx Life Raj has had anything but an ordinary path to his current success. After graduating from high school in Berkeley, California he went to Boise State University on scholarship to play for their Division 1 football program. After four years in Idaho, he moved back home to pursue his passion for music full-time.
Just after performing during Pharrell's #IAMOTHER set at ComplexCon, he released the visuals for his newest single, "Where I Belong." The soothing video sees Raj peering into the ocean from a seat on a cliff, while the track sees him peering into his future and reflecting on his past. He does some subtle flexing while still crafting a relatable, irresistible series of bars. Check out the video below:
Over the years, Rexx has grown his relevance through shows, projects, and a consistent stream of quality singles. 2016 saw him release Father Figure, his most put-together project that showed off his unique style, infectious melodies, and raw raps. After a year of collaborating with the likes of G-Eazy, Russ, P-Lo, and Mozzy, he is gearing up for the biggest project release of his career. Father Figure 2: Flourish is slated to be released on November 17th and, if the latest singles are any indication, it should be the best work of his career.
The first two singles from the album saw him collaborate with outspoken artist Russ for their track "Burn Baby Burn," and while releasing a solo hit, "2Free."
