Amino is having one hell of a year. Not only did he release one of the best projects of the year, blkswn, he’s also spent the past few months touring with SZA on her CTRL tour. To top it all off, Smino just released a remix of his single “Anita” featuring none other than the great, the legendary, the amazing T-Pain.
Yes, you read that right, T-Pain. The man, myth, and legend hops on this thing from the get-go and doesn’t hold back. The dude spits a dope first verse and just when you expect the track to revert to its original, Smino grabs the reins and takes this thing to the next level.
As a music fan, I’ve always hated it when an artist does a “remix, ” and all that has changed is one verse. That’s not a remix, that’s just adding to a finished product. Smino and T-Pain clearly understand and decided to put in effort on this one. After doing a little duet thing on the chorus and Smi dropping his new verse, things sort of go back to the original, but T-Pain adds a few extra layers to bolster the finale.
