Gorillaz release new track "Garage Palace" feat Little Simz [Video]

The Gorillaz link up with UK rapper Little Simz for "Garage Palace", a mid-tempo but still energetic jam that fits perfectly with Simz vibrant flow and delivery. The song which has been received quite raucously at their live shows has now been given the visual treatment courtesy of illustrator McKay Felt and director Noah Harris.

Taking inspiration from the 8bit-2D video games of the past, we get to go on a spirited adventure with the entire crew. It starts with Little Simz battling shadowy ninjas and ghoulish goons across a 2d landscape similar to Streets Of Rage, Double Dragon etc. It then switches to an aerial stage a'la Gradius with the crew dodging missiles and obstacles. The last stage shown takes the bird's eye view perspective as the battle rages on. After all said and done, the crew make it to the top of the tower which houses the final boss- a bald Buhddah like statue (reminds me of those weird stone heads that shoot lasers in Gradius III) for the final showdown.

Little Simz will be supporting Gorillaz on the Humanz tour across European and U.K. dates this Autumn/Winter. European dates commence in November which will lead to their homecoming gigs in London’s O2 Arena on December 4th and 5th, with their usual line up of surprise special guests.

The Super Deluxe Vinyl Boxset consists of Gorillaz’ new album Humanz, presented across 14 individual pieces of 12-inch different coloured vinyl, packaged in individually art-worked sleeves. All tracks on Humanz are backed with a non-album bonus track, most of which are previously unreleased. The Boxset also Includes a 54-page, cloth-bound, foil-blocked, hardback book of Gorillaz artwork by Jamie Hewlett and a download card, all housed in a bespoke 12-inch vinyl carrying case.
