TREKKIE TRAX show electronic's raw edge in new EP [Premiere]

Tokyo-based online label and artist collective TREKKIE TRAX have released their hotly anticipated EP in partnership with Mad Decent's cousin label GOOD ENUFF, premiering exclusively with EARMILK, and it is some serious fire. The EP features the TREKKIE TRAX crew, as well as the GOOD ENUFF debuts of Lil Texas, Carpainter, Hikeii and Ryuki Miyamoto – just to name a few – as well as the return of KiWi to Mad Decent. The 8-song EP is a mash up of genre bending tracks of UK garage, dubstep and hardstyle, alongside the international sounds associated with Mad Decent.

As soon as you press play, the EP immediately goes from 0 to 100 without slowing down at any point. The opening joint "Tension" by Akira Akira and Lil Texas is your typical trap banger, but hits hard when that heavy bass drops. Another notable track is KiWi's "S • A • G • E": a mind-bending two minutes and 53 seconds of J-Pop vocals glitching against big room EDM beats.

Danish trio Nonsens team up with the TREKKIE TRAX crew and Ashnikko on guest vocals on "Ballistic", which is the perfect blend of European and Japanese influences and booty bouncing sounds. Directly following is one-to-watch producer Hikeii with his club remix of Carpainter's "Breakdance" – originally a very stripped down track so the remix turns it completely on its head.

The "TREKKIE TRAX x GOOD ENUFF" Compilation EP hits the nail on the head of the future of electronic music with producers and artists bringing their A-game to the genre and the scene. If you're ready to go on one hell of a ride and experience the up-and-coming sounds of EDM, let this EP be your guide.
