Petra Glynt releases "Propaganda" and sets off on tour [Video Exclusive]

Petra Glynt has put out her latest single "Propaganda" with another electrifying video, and we have your first listen/view here. This is the fourth single from her upcoming debut LP This Trip and is being released as she sets off on tour through North America and Europe.

In "Propaganda", Glynt finds a more toned down, murky realm in which to explore her ideas, and to great effect. Her voice sits mainly in its mid range to let the rhythms of her spoken word take flight. The simplified instrumentals and ethereal background vocals give the song a dreamier and more ambient feel that makes it more like a late night trip compared to the wide-awake alertness of her other tracks. The video also reflects this, with the usual brightly saturated hues replaced by somewhat more subdued shades that glow out of the darkness.

No intensity is lost however, since this shifted angle refreshes and narrows in on her intent. Closeup shots and visual effects achieved with the webcam animating program Selfie Apocalypse (created by coder and cartographer and also apparently star-program-namer Olivia Jack) help to amplify Glynt's expressiveness. As both her features and the colours modulate, it feels like she could either be singing from a blacklight rave or warning us from some ultra-radiated future. The result is a more intimate manifestation of her singular style – she is speaking directly to us and we can't avoid her gaze. We are instead encouraged to dive right into its depths and get lost in it.

This Trip will be out on Vibe Over Method on October 27th.
