Gorgon City, the U.K. duo known for their dynamic live shows and international touring presence, have remained at the forefront of electronic music for the past five years. Their recent collaboration "Real Life" with Duke Dumont is house track with pop undertones, geared towards festivals and radio play. "Primal Call" deviates from that sound with a more minimalist techno feel, mysterious vocal cuts, and a driving bass that feels more club-appropriate.
The debut release sets the tone for Gorgon City's new imprint label REALM, which is intended to act as a platform for more underground sounds. The British pair, consisting of Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott, had some words about the launch—
"We've been planning [this] for a long time and it now feels like the perfect time to release 'Primal Call', after getting great reactions over the Summer. We wanted the debut to be a new track from us, to set the vibe of what's to come on the label. We can't wait to release more great music on REALM, so watch this space!”
The duo is in the midst of their 22-date KINGDOM tour across the U.K. & North America this fall, including a Brooklyn Warehouse party and two nights at Exchange in Los Angeles. More information on tour dates and tickets can be found here.
