Malia helps us hold on to the last bit of Summer with "Simple Things" [Premiere]

LA based singer-songwriter Malia is like a warm summer breeze on a fall day. Let’s be clear, just because Fall doesn’t technically start until September 22nd, doesn’t mean it’s still summer. Once Amazon starts bombarding our inboxes with “Back to School Deals!!!” and Labor Day has passed, everyone’s favorite sunny season is over.

But, just because the above is true, does not mean you cannot fight back! Doing so is easier than you might think. In fact, all you need to do is press play on the video below.

“Simple Things” by Malia has everything a good summer track needs. It’s warm, groovy and, well, simple. The video, co-directed by Malia and Quentin Lamont is equally warm, groovy and simple with Malia checking off every box on the “How to Spend a Summer’s Day in LA” checklist. She blazes, cools out on a grassy hill and skates through a palm tree lined neighborhood with a friend. Oh, and she busts out the guitar to play while the sun sets in the canyon behind her. Yup, sans a trip to the beach, that about does it.

Malia is gearing up to release her first album, Late Bloomer, later this year which will include “Simple Things” as well as “Dirty Laundry (feat. Syd).” If you like the above, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Late Bloomer when it drops.

Honestly, this track is so mellow it gives a contact high. So do yourself a favor while it’s still warm out, hop on a bike or a skateboard, pop some headphones on and groove out to Malia’s “Simple Things.”
