Ben Stevenson has spent the past few months holed up in Toronto studios, collaborating on his latest album Cara Cara with the likes of Daniel Caesar, Matty Tavares (BADBADNOTGOOD), and Project Pablo. It's no surprise then, that when EARMILK was offered the first listen of his latest single "No Better Way", we were struck by the immense multi-instrumentation of the track. The track is rich with interesting sounds: flutes and an early 70's R&B-esque rhythm section pair effortlessly with Stevenson's smooth vocal and a modern electronica. Cara Cara is out September 22nd with Culvert Music. On the song, Stevenson says:
"No Better Way is about accepting and acknowledging your reality. We tend to wish for things: more money, time, love etc. but, for me, only by finding contentment and peace in the way things are at any given moment have I found what I truly want. We all suffer, we all eventually die and acceptance of all aspects of this life, is the way I've found to a truer joy. I guess what I'm reminding myself of is that what we really want is what we already have."
