Earlier this June, Ernest Greene, AKA chillwave pioneer and producer Washed Out released his third album, the visual and auditory Xanax that was Mister Mellow. It found a home on Stones Throw Records thanks to its heavy reliance on jazzy samples and overall laid-back vibe. Ever game to show off his remix chops, enter UK beatmaker Lone, who provides an ample energy to Mellow cut "Hard To Say Goodbye". Lone takes the song's relaxing piano chords and turns them into a classic house sound, peppering in some glittering synth arpeggios and atmospheric synth pads as a beautiful counter to the punchy drums. If you enjoy both the ambient and more dancefloor-leaning sides of Lone, you'll be hard-pressed to find a reason to stop listening to this remix.
