Since moving to LA, I've gravitated more and more towards melodic music – the kind that makes you want to roll down your windows, let the sun smack you in the face, and cruise down the coast. This new track "Runaway" from Amir Miles and NXFCE fits the bill perfectly.
I'm a staunch believer in the phrase "simple is better," and this tune represents its exemplar. "Runaway" has a languid flow, but the sound design is very playful without sounding too chirpy. The syncopation of the drums also seamlessly switches from double time to half time, so the arrangement doesn't ever churn or seem repetitive.
