Today EARMILK has been given the opportunity to premiere the latest single "COCOA" by Long Beach producer Ahwlee & LA-based astral projector/MC Pink Siifu's new collaborative project B. Cool-Aid. The group just also announced that their debut LP is being released via MNDSGN's new label Akashik Records.
The hazy cut isseemingly inspired by the Soulquarian movement of the 90s, with Ahwlee delivering a slightly off kilter boom-bap instrumental in the same vein of the late J Dilla's prolific output mixed with a bit of D'Angelo's soulful groove. Siifu's stream of conscious flow is reminiscent of a smoked-out freestyle session in the midst of a summertime cookout, floating in and out of the mix like a cool breeze. When asked on the inspiration behind the project, the duo stated:
This a black and brown perspective of the black and white times we live in. Heavily influenced by how we was raised in the system we were put in. eye like to think of us as a mixture of all rooted flavors from diff blocks. all parallel doe.
