Inspiration doesn't strike everybody the same way. For some it could come from an idea or a person, but for others, it could come from where they are or the tools they use to craft their work.
Adding to the longstanding tradition of music wrapped in a tapestry of uniqueness emerging from Seattle, electronic wizards ODESZA are back on a full stampede in preparation for the release of their new album, A Moment Apart, on September 8th. In this video, they discuss their process, the influence that the Pacific Northwest has on them, and how imperative Native Instruments' Maschine and Komplete products are on their workflow.
"I don't think we're trying to reinvent the wheel, it's really just us pursuing our sound to the fullest" Harrison Mills notes in the video. The duo goes on to explain that the software they use enables them to further their knowledge by learning from their mistakes and never being afraid to dive deeper into the process, as well as how the environment they create in as just as important to their signature sound as the gear they use to create it.
