Well, well, well, do we have a fun track for you on this beautiful afternoon. Allow us to introduce you to Rude Grl, coming out of the UK, and their first single “That's The Way It Is (Survival Of The Sickest).” Comprised of Jenna Dickens (the fierce femcee) and Ben Langmaid (of La Roux producing fame), Rude Grl is everything a person could ask for in a Hip Hop duo. Ben’s productions are bouncy and energetic, and Jenna’s bars have just the right amount of attitude to grab your by the earbuds and refuse to let go.
Take notes, ladies and gents, as this is one of those “You Heard it Here First” situations. With the 80's synth pop meets hip-hop aesthetic, Rude Grl is sure to be around for a while. At the end of the day, you can’t ignore raw talent like this, nor can you ignore a sweet Run DMC sample. And it seems we at EARMILK aren’t the only ones taking notice.
Rude Grl recently signed to Rat Boy’s new label, SCUM, and “That's The Way It Is (Survival Of The Sickest)” is the label’s first official release. Not a bad way to start things off, eh?
This is but the first of their songs to hit the market, but you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll be back. Until then, press play on your new favorite pump on jam above and to quote the emcee herself, make sure you “turn it up a bit.”
