South LA's Duckwrth was last featured on EARMILK when I profiled him just before the release of his criminally understated I'M UUGLY EP last year. His profile has since risen significantly since then as he continued to bring his electric live show on tour all around North America, all the while still finding time to work on his next project, the XTRA UUGLY LP. A few days ago, Duck finally revealed the debut single off of the upcoming project, a funked out subversive cut entitled "BOY".
The single was produced by Alexander Spit and has Duck ruminating about his relationship in a way that shrouds normative gender norms, allowing for him to be the "boy sleeping in a bed of roses" who "plants flowers on the hill" while referring to his lover as both a boy and girl. In a statement about the track, Duckwrth told Revolve.TV that:
"THIS SONG IS FOR the rebels, the tomboys, the emotional dudes, the skater girls, the ones who say FUCK Social Constructs. This is for you."
