Thanks to their shared digital heritage, electronic dance music and video games are intrinsically linked. Two of the biggest names in each respective arena, Monstercat and Rocket League, are banking upon this familiarity with their release of the gameplay-inspired "Rocket League X Monstercat: Vol. 1," out July 5. Dutch beatmaker WRLD is an early standout with his euphoric drum and bass contribution “Drift Away.” Frenetic DnB drum patterns and old school synths put the listener immediately in the game, even miles away from the controller. Known for his knack for the nostalgic, WRLD hits the mark with total retro, feel good vibes.
