It’s finally starting to feel like Summer. Yes, okay, so technically it has been Summer for a few weeks, but something about 4th of July really drives the feeling home. Barbecue, ice cold beers, beach/lakes and of course, a good Summer playlist.
Now, depending on where you live, some of the items on that above list may not be attainable (major apologies for everyone, not beach adjacent). However, everyone has access to music. Many a playlist will be spun this coming weekend in celebration for the 4th, but none will be as funky, as groovy, as terrifically toe-tapping as J.KELR and Lorine Chia’s new EP, Remedy.
Remedy is like the idyllic Summer party we all hope to attend this weekend. The weather is perfect, the people are beautiful, the drinks are plentiful and the tunes are setting the mood just right. And, just like the perfect Summer party, the guest list on Remedy is top notch.
The EP features the likes of Chuck Inglish, Jez Dior, Finding Novyon, Rome Castille and Michael Christmas over the course of its 8 tracks. All while J. KELR handles the productions, mixings and masterings, and Lorine handles the silky vocals.
Features or no features, J.KELR and Lorine are more than capable of running the show. The two make an incredible duo. J.KELR has a perfecting understanding of the type of productions Lorine sounds great on and sets the scene while Lorine knows how to manipulate her voice and handle every beat with masterful precision. They sound more like a group rather than two artists collaborating which is indicative of their working relationship. Hopefully, this isn’t the last we hear from these two.
This is the type of project you can throw on repeat and enjoy all summer, so quit reading and go listen to Remedy above! For all things dope music, keep it locked on EARMILK and enjoy a safe and funky 4th of July!
