Nashville, Tennessee may be a hotbed for rising musicians, but it’s rarely known for its rappers. However, it has happened before, and it looks like it’s happening again in the form of rising star, Jung Youth. Jung (pronounced “Young”) is a relatively small artist who just hit the motherload. His latest single “Only One King” is getting a premiere on EARMILK! Joking. Well, that’s obviously true, but the “motherload” comment is referring to the fact that the NFL just picked his track to play during Thursday Night Football.

A few seconds into “Only One King” are all you’ll need to understand why this track was picked up by the NFL. It’s got a motivational tinge to it, but that doesn’t make it a sell out record. Good music is becoming more and more common at major sporting events these days; even KDot did a little remixy for the NBA. There’s a fire to Jung, though, that comes across well on “Only One King.” With the backing of a grungy guitar riff and rapid-fire rhymes, the kid seems fit for the gridiron. “To me, this song is all about perseverance, hard work, determination, and the awareness that comes with understanding that we live and die by the decisions we make,” says Jung of his single. It’s easy to see the parallels between Jung’s artistry and the athleticism and drive it takes to make it in Football.
