Coming out of Queensbridge, New York, we’ve got a new singer to keep your eyes and ears on, Ilham. On her latest track, “All of a Sudden” Ilham uses her gift to highlight the increased bouts of racism running rampant through our world.
Without a doubt, Ilham sounds a lot like Jhene Aiko. This young songstress is far from a clone, though. She focuses more on social good, which is welcomed considering all the fucked up things that are happening on the daily. “I wrote this song in reflection to the BlackLivesMatter movement and the police brutality that's been happening for years now. I think though a lot of music is amazing, we should use our voices to really talk about what is going on today.” An honorable sentiment, indeed.
