Brooklyn, NY duo Young Ejecta, formed by former Neon Indian keyboardist Leanne Macomber and ex-Ford & Lopatin member Joel Ford, are back for the first time in two years. "Build A Fire" is Young Ejecta at their most 80's, and the first new material since their last effort, 2015's The Planet EP. The single stuns with its danceability and nocturnal mood. A rigid drum machine beat keeps the tempo chugging along as a swath of expansive synths envelop Macomber's heavenly voice. The bubbling synth bass wraps everything together into a sleek, sensual package perfect for a dusky discotheque.
You can also purchase the single as a part of a 12" pre-order, which contains two "Build A Fire" remixes from Napolian and Ellie Herring, as well as The Planet as the B-side (which is on vinyl for the first time). Snag it via Driftless Recordings here.
