Washed Out announces new album 'Mister Mellow'

Chillwave favorite Ernest Greene, more commonly known by music project Washed Out, has announced new multimedia album Mister Mellow via Twitter on Monday. Scheduled to drop on June 30th through new label Stones Throw, Mister Mellow is set to be a 12-track album including the previously released single "Get Lost."

As follow up to 2013's Paracosm, Greene cultivated his latest work over the course of two years and almost entirely alone. The full-lengthed album will be paired with a visual DVD hoping to aid listeners struggling with quarter-life crises by providing content to guide them "through the highs and lows of this often ridiculous struggle," according to the album's press release.

Washed Out's iconic synthesised-driven sound is expected to change on Mister Mellow, which draws inspiration from free jazz, house, and hip-hop.

Monday's announcement was met with a minute-long album trailer featuring a mix of graphic visuals, pills, and trippy edits over classic film strips. Check it out above.
