There are times when it's right – and necessary – for an artist to experiment and push him or herself out of the box. Then, there are times when that is just not the right move, and as they say, write what you know best. Viceroy has done the latter on his latest original. Entitled "Improvise," the track is exactly what we look to from the San Francisco producer and DJ: a catchy, upbeat, feel good track. While we expect Viceroy's music to emulate summer – he practically invented the "tropical" sensibility in house music – "Improvise" does that, but in a new way. Funky and poppy, "Improvise" is undoubtedly a summer jam.
"Improvise" features vocals from Tom Aspaul, and is released via Dim Mak Records – the electro label headed up by Steve Aoki that has recently been spreading its wings into a variety of electronic sounds. "Improvise" follows Viceroy's 2017 EP Just Marinate.
