Alex Preston could and should celebrate 2017, as it's been a huge year for his career. The Australian DJ and producer has had some spotlight on him as he makes music that's a poignant take on house and rhythmic pop. Scrolling through his SoundCloud page, you'll be able to find his mantra – "I make house music," – and his many viral hits: remixes of Matthew Koma, Thomas Gold, releases on Armada Deep, and his latest original, "Don't Grow Old." But the telling thing about this page is his personal interaction with it, and the music he showcases that's not his. It's less and less frequent we get to see artists play around like this, especially when it tells so much about the artist's personal tastes. Here, Preston is true to his message, reposting other true house tracks that stem from disco, acid, funk and otherwise.
