Microwave reveals its haunting visuals for "Roaches" [Premiere]

Atlanta emo outfit Microwave saw their latest record Much Love release back in September, shamefully, and cooly, as one of 2016's greatest sleeper hits. The record was frontman Nathan Hardy's finest, unrelenting work to date, speaking on life's hardships once obscured by the religion Hardy was engulfed in two years prior. Microwave crafted an impressive sophomore record, encapsulating the mood and feeling of Hardy's new life post-religious fallout. Through meticulous instrumental work, catchy vocal melodies and lyrics that depict the drinking, smoking and sex we sometimes use to cope, Much Love is an ode to both life's harsh realities and the ways we continue to pull through it.

Today, Much Love's opening track "Roaches" got the visual treatment and EARMILK has the premiere. The song is melodic, short and contemplative as Hardy begs for society to leave its roaches alone. "We sprayed for them to go away / But the little roaches always stay / The little roaches are okay / They’re not hurting anybody." The music video shows a man wearing the mask of a crying baby, watching a television set plagued in roaches and other grotesque things. He's seemingly disturbing by what he's watching and disgusted by its visuals and he eventually ends up inside the television itself.

Watch the video for "Roaches" up above and purchase Much Love from SideOneDummy's official webstore. Stream the record over at Microwave's Bandcamp and catch the band at one of their upcoming tour dates through Warped Tour below.
