Blaq Tuxedo flex their range on new single "Over Due" [Premiere]

We at EARMILK are happy to premiere the latest from Blaq Tuxedo, the brother duo hailing from California’s capital city, and the first single off of their upcoming mixtape, “Over Due.” Dom and Darius cut their teeth writing hits for the likes of Ty Dolla $ign ("L.A." featuring Kendrick Lamar, Brandy, and James Fauntleroy), Chris Brown ("Anyway"), and The Rejectz ("Cat Daddy") but are now focusing on their career with the release of their upcoming tape, Tap In.

Sung with a deep sense of longing, Dom and Darius paint a vivid picture on "Over Due." “We were actually creating it for someone else and then we just decided to keep it because we liked how it came out.” says Darius. The song speaks to timing and how relationships never seem to work out quite the way you’d like. "It felt like our life."

Speaking on the subject of Blaq Tuxedo's direction, Dom states “This new generation is ready to try something new. I feel like there are no genres of music anymore.” Indeed, it certainly seems to be going that way. With a handful of their contemporaries in tow, the Sacramento duo is helping to lead the charge in breaking free from genre molds in an attempt to define new sounds. With the slow and sensual track "Over Due" and last years break out banger "Lit," Blaq Tuxedo have quite the range and are unafraid to flex it.

Give “Over Due” a listen above, and be sure to pre-order their upcoming Tap In mixtape on iTunes, which drops April 7. For all things Blaq Tuxedo, keep your eyes and ears locked on EARMILK.
