In a delectable downtempo fusion of indie and pop, production duo Eighty Ninety took Cody Lovaas' wistful track "Lie" and flipped it into a mellow heater perfect for spring.
Originally discovered by Jason Mraz at the tender age of 14, Cody Lovaas has blossomed into a force to be reckoned with. Having toured with Ziggy Marley, Switchfoot, Donavon Frankenreiter and Mraz, he won Best New Artist at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards, and was nominated for Best Singer-Songwriter at the same awards ceremony the very next year. Boasting a laid-back, euphonic sound, Cody's musical passion is deeply rooted in "Lie," which also exhibits his knack for storytelling. What makes Eighty Ninety's remix so special, he said, is their ability to convey the story through a different lens:
"The Eighty Ninety Remix of my new single "Lie" starts to show some of my acoustic routs with the opening guitar. When more of the instruments are introduced, it starts to take us back to somewhat of a 70's or 80's vibe, but when the song drops, it ties in the rest of the modern sound all together. I love what Eighty Ninety did with this remix because I can see the story through a totally different lens when I listen."
