It’s safe to say that the 2010’s pop music scene has been marked by talented, avant-garde female vocalists. Names like Lorde, Florence Welch, Alessia Cara, Halsey, Anne-Marie and Kehlani have dominated buzz-worthy lists, and in an ever crowded music industry, there’s somehow still room for more talent. Great news for LA’s Billie Ellish, as she rises to the top of the pop scene.
Ellish broke out with a track “Ocean Eyes” at the end of 2015, and the track took off soon in the next year. Now, millions of streams on Spotify and SoundCloud later, Ellish has been spotted by everyone from Vogue to Interview to most recently, V as a teen pop sensation whose success is only beginning.
At the end of February 2017, Ellish released her latest single, “Bellyache.” Perfectly encompassing the blend of ethereal independence that is her vocal brand, the track only solidifies her talent and future pop star status.
