It’s been nearly a month since Atlanta native Daye Jack has graced us with any new music, and to be fair, that last one was only a remix. Thankfully, we not only have a new tune but a single off of his upcoming album No Data, which will drop March 24 according to Google Play.
“Casino” is certainly unexpected given Daye's past efforts. The song is much, much funkier and features quite a bit of singing from the young emcee. With an 80’s vibe and a groovy bassline, this is probably not the Daye Jack you’ve come to know and love, and that’s not a bad thing.
If this is the artistic direction No Data will take, it will be a very exciting project. Not to say there was anything wrong with his past records, but it's always appreciated when an artist tries something new, and this direction is certainly that.
