The Bay is the gift that keeps on giving. There definitely no shortage of talent, and one example of that talent is trio Down 2 Earth. Comprised of HBK Gang artist/producer Azure and CaliMade collective members, Clyde Shankle and Dayvid Michael; the group is ready to follow-up their 2016 project Wildfire. Today, they are back with a visual for their first single, "DNA", off of their forthcoming project Fair Share.
The Adrian Per directed visual will definitely keep your attention. We see Down 2 Earth in an old school Chrysler making pizza deliveries all over San Francisco. From the looks of it, they aren't the best delivery guys; but who cares when you're having fun. The same fun-loving, upbeat spirit that fills "DNA" can be seen throughout the visual. Down 2 Earth shared their reasoning for the creative direction of the DNA video, stating:
We were sick of watching repeat performance shot videos, there's little to no cinematic value in a lot current day music videos because the game has been watered down by DIY directors. We were sick of getting bored 20 seconds into most rap videos, so we wanted to build out a relatable story. Somewhere in the world, somebody is ordering a pizza this very second. Our music is already something that comes organically and free from commercial influence. We wanted our videos to be the same; we're not following any blueprint. We wanted to film something that would hold the attention of whoever's watching!
Check back soon for more from Down 2 Earth, as well as their new project Fair Share. Until then, enjoy "DNA"!
