Curren$y is on another level.
What’s more, he’s always been on another level; this dude is legit the hardest working person in hip hop (sorry Murs). He is relentless with releasing music and as of this the time this post was written – 12/28/16 – he still has one more project to go before the end of 2017. His most recent, Andretti 11/30, is a pretty solid mixtape and today he has released a video for one of my favorite cuts, “Real Family”.
The Don Cannon-produced and piano-laden track sees Spitta rapping about his family life. Nothing groundbreaking here, but I always admired artists who could take an average topic and turn it into a great song (“Fixing a Hole” by The Beatles being my favorite example of this).
The visuals for “Real Family” echo the song perfectly. Spitta has never been one to be overly flashy with himself or his family, and that stays true with this video. It’s basically just shots of him in the studio with friends and family or actual pictures of his fam. It’s a mellow video that gives an unedited look into the rapper’s life, and as expected, you’ll see tons and tons of weed smoke.
