Producer and musician Bonobo (Simon Green) released his latest single “Break Apart” on Tuesday, and the accompanying visual on Thursday. This track follows the release of his first single "Kerala," which was premiered last month as he gears up for the debut of his sixth album, Migration.
“Break Apart” features vocals from Milosh, member of Los Angeles-based R&B duo Rhye. The single boasts Milosh’s smooth, lulling melody as it blends over Bonobo’s signature mix of relaxing strings, ambient synths, a lyrical bass line and marching percussion.
"From the moment I heard the instrumental track it spoke to me more than I can express in words,” Milosh said in a statement. “Being able to work with an artist that continuously makes me envious, like Simon, is where I always want to be."
The video perfectly resonates with the entrancing audio. You glide languorously over peaceful landscapes, eased into a serene state.
Migration will be available January 13, 2017 via Ninja Tune, and features collaborations with Innov Gnawa, Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), Hundred Waters’ Nicole Miglis and Rhye.
