My Favorite Robot Records has been holding onto this one for a while, with several big name DJs like Maceo Plex playing it out for the last few months. Jake Fairley AKA Fairmont, a Toronto based artist just like My Favorite Robot, has delivered a three track EP, with the title track "Carthage" coming in as one of the biggest tracks of the year. Monster synths layered with intricate percussion gives way to a haunting vocal (or is it?) that draws you in for a peak time deep techno affair that is just one of three standout songs on the release. With a new live show planned, Fairmont is poised to make some big moves in the new year.
