Leapling varies in scope, ranging from a four-piece to the band's current manifestation as Dan Arnes' personal project. "Killing Time," the second single from Leapling's Killing Time EP, reflects this condensed set-up with a pared down sound.
Compared to the lush arrangements of previous releases or those of contemporaries like Alex G, the track provides a leaner take on guitar-driven indie pop. A shuffling energy still drives things along, but not at the cost of intimacy.
