The first we heard of Lutrell was his feature on Anjunadeep's exploratory EP series, Explorations. On Explorations 02, the San Francisco-based artist has his track "Away" give us a glimpse into his style alongside other emerging artists trying to make their names known in the world of deeper electronic music. Moreover, they're artists that Above & Beyond-backed label Anjunadeep has its eyes on. And now, Lutrell is fully on his way to be a cultivated Anjunadeep artist, with the release of his first full EP entitled Need You.
With a feature on the Anjunadeep Edition mix series, the EP's title track premiere on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show, and "Storm Watcher" getting a premiere on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, some of the industry's biggest tastemakers have given Lutrell's latest their seal of approval.
