New York City based Opvs is an electronic duo who has coined a sparkly self-dubbed "#Girl Funk" sound, which can be heard in their future bass and trap remakes of pop classics like Destiny's Child's "Say My Name" and Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss". Producer Ye, pronounced "yeah", has got a wonky electronic sound, similar to the quirkiness in Cashmere Cat or Basenji. Sometimes there are tracks that deliver an ethereal quality which instantly mark the artist as innovative and captivating; these are the works that test the boundaries of trendiness, citing an ache in artist's to create something bold and timeless. This particular quality was found in the new release by both Opvs and ye, titled "Stranded".

At the initial listening to "Stranded" by both Opvs & ye, I immediately referenced the likes of Odesza and Jai Wolf for that warm and organic sound. The two together create a thrilling escape complete with bright vocal manipulations and hazey synths to get lost in. There's a feathery embodiment to "Stranded" that will have listeners feel uplifted in it's shrilling synth work and punchy percussion.
