One of life's small and rare pleasures is the feeling of vindication. That's how we're feeling today with the big news out of New York City-based artist TOULOUSE's camp. Following the impressive release of "Hurtin," we saw him release "So I Know You Care" to great acclaim and viral success, and now, an impressive debut of his latest original. "I Will Follow You" is an updated and customized cover of "I Will Follow Him," and is featured in the latest advertisement for Apple's new iPhone 7 model. But the story doesn't end there, as TOULOUSE's connection to the track goes beyond that, when as a child, his globetrotting father, a professor and pediatrician, brought home a copy of Sister Act. The 1992 film had a now widely-recognized cover of Peggy March's 1961 original song, and the gospel rendition resonated with viewers, influencing the meaning of music in the young TOULOUSE's mind.
That influence translated into "I Will Follow You," out now via Downtown Records, and now a milestone in TOULOUSE's career with a premiere on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show. This surely only marks the beginning for TOULOUSE: we just noticed that "Hurtin" is no longer streaming, which can only mean bigger things for the single.
