If your Soundcloud game has been strong lately, Crankdat is a producer you might already be familiar with. The 19-year old producer blew up last year with the viral release of his "Trap Queen" remix, which was loaded with glimmering goodness and now stands at 41 million plays on Soundcloud. Since then the Ohioan has introduced to us some choice remixes, like his fiery rendition of Wiwek and Skrillex's "Killa" holds an incredibly rambunctious drop, which dare I say it might surpass the grittiness of the original. Crankdat's aesthetic marks him as a party favourite, with his energy levels blowing the roof through his charging vigorous styles.
Despite having a cohesive sound throughout his library, Crankdat's newest remix of Lil Yachty's "1 Night", sheds light on a different side of him. Regarding the release, Crankdat states
"One of the most important aspects of creating music is self-expression. While that seems like a given, people are often too quick to associate a style of sound with a specific artist. I think that artists should have the freedom to do whatever they want. At the end of the day, if the music is good, who even cares?".

The original embraces a much more minimal sound, exposing chilled vibes through Lil Yachty's vocal manipulations and muted beats. Crankdat fuels the original by adding dramatic percussion and sweet melodies to fill space within. His sparkly tinged synths lift the track up creating a cutesy more future bass aesthetic to the work. With this latest release, Crankdat proves his flexibility and dexterous ability to adapt to a spectrum of electronic sounds.
