The Southern California-based DJ, Marbs, brings a unique sound of his own to the Desert Hearts horsemen currently riding across the electronic scene bringing with him dark techno driven beats. However, with this new mix, Marbs truly demonstrates his versatility as a maturing DJ and producer. He dabbles with softer, gentle flowing transitions, a few spurts of tamed but beautiful samples, some playful lighthearted remixes, while harmonizing it all with an underlying cascade of deep, esoteric techno beats that are strategically scattered throughout.

"To me the most beautiful thing about music is its ability to communicate to people with or, more importantly, without using words. Infinite emotions and feelings are translated and transferred to listeners no matter what you're primary language is. That's a primal and deep rooted piece of all of us. This mix series explores the many electronic sounds I enjoy listening to and playing, while also focusing on the balance and communication between them all. Lately, during the tour and my last few mixes I've been playing a lot of Techno and "heavy hitting" tracks. The Yang side of the series. For this mix I wanted to put something out that's different than what I've been playing at shows lately. Something on the "Yin" side. It's more trippy, melodic, and mysterious. It's something you can drive and cruise to, or party to … it fits many shoes. Enjoy <3 " Marbs

Although, he will remain eternally modest about it, Marbs (lovingly coined, "Papa Bear") is a key force behind the Desert Hearts Festival project, it's subsequent city tour City Hearts, as well as hand drawing all of the recently launched Desert Hearts record label’s artwork and images. As a DJ and producer, his dark, tribal rhythmic sounds provide a deeper and mystical experience that compliment the various House and Techno offerings from the rest of the crew.
