Production duo Casper & B have been making waves on the LA dance music scene with their lively spin on hip-hop based electronic music, incorporating aspects of footwork, trap, hyphy, New Orleans bounce and drum'n'bass into their eclectic palette. The group has been dedicated to melding the sounds of hip-hop underground with their infectious dance rhythms by collaborating solely with some the best artists on the scene, including Michael Christmas, Pell, and Wes Period. Today, EARMILK has been giving the opportunity of debuting the long awaited debut project from the group, the Low Battery Summer EP.
This project is a beautifully crafted showcase of not only the group's dexterity behind the boards, but also their ability to bring the absolute best out of all of their collaborators on each track. The tape features a full host of talent from all around the country including Brandun Deshay, Ms. Williams, Phil Ade, and underground stalwart Charles Hamilton, but the true stars of the show are Casper & B. who deliver some of the most inventive and free-flowing hip-hop instrumentals to come out of LA in a long time. All of the beats are densely layered and relatively frantic, but allow enough space for all of the guest to fit in the mix organically without sounding forced.
