Ryan Lee West has always called Erased Tapes home when it comes to his releases as Rival Consoles. On a roster that's fairly focused on neo-classical, West's music is more in the realm of electronic and IDM, and last year's Howl was his magnum opus thus far. He's been shut off in the dark as of late, and while it's unclear where he's been exactly, the experience of living in almost constant darkness hugely influenced his forthcoming mini-LP, Night Melody. West explains:
I just remember it always being night time. I would either make music into the night, go out drinking with friends, or go to parties and dance into the early hours, every day, week after week, month after month, until eventually the days became brighter again.”
You can stream the album's first track, "Lone," above, and grab the whole release when it drops on August 5.
