We get the first listen on a slice of Cera Alba’s return to Madtech, the appraised record label headed by Kerri Chandler. Hailing from Newcastle, Cera Alba is an imminent presence in the techno and house scene, with releases on Hot Creations, Elrow Music, and Moon Harbour to his name.
"Solitary Nights" comes flying straight off his 89 EP. Named fondly after the second summer of love in 1989 when acid house exploded in rave parties across fields in Britain. Cera Alba serves up a spooky section of the four-track EP with "Solitary Nights". A gloomy atmosphere and dulled out soundscapes soon grabs you. After the percussion takes shape, bass drones fall though vocal snippets. This one's a low-end creeper. 89 ep is ready to download from June 17th on Beatport, and everywhere else two weeks later.
