What better way to kick off your Tuesday morning than with a stellar bass house release to keep you bouncing and ready to take on the rest of the week. Bass house is going through some interesting waves in recent times, with a handful of up and comers such as NIGHTOWLS, Jameston Thieves and Ghastly adding their own signature twist and several big EDM names also jumping on the bandwagon. Bass house is hot and ready to take over the dance scene and Milwauke -based Mind Cntrl is another exciting artist to look out for. The producer has already released some stand out heavy hits including "You" and "Lose It".
Today EARMILK is premiering Mind Cntrl's Lawbreaker EP released off Uprise Music. It's difficult not to describe bass house without using ridiculous onomatopoeias, with the expected "wub" or "weow" trickling throughout the tracks. Despite these standard sounds found in your average bass house track, Mind Cntrl adds cohesion and sophistication in his sound that sets him apart as something memorable. "Law Breaker" is loaded with formant and jarring synths to set the pace for a club-worthy track. The middle-eastern inspired strings and trickling rumbles add a distinct flair to captivate listeners.. "Street Flow"s clicky 808's and repetitive notion will surely stay in your head. "Get It" has subtle 90's house vibes in his wavey breakdown and transitions into a spunky whirlwind of deep drops and grit. "4 AM" is full of thrashing synths over an electrified growl. The track throws punchy hi-hats and sports an industrial yet funky approach. Law Breaker is musical delinquency at it's finest, with Mind Cntrl's take on bass house successfully clashing sonic grime with a polished stride. The entire EP is available at your pleasure below.
