British DJ and producer Sonny Wharton is becoming a mainstay in house and techno vocabulary. Release after release on labels like Toolroom, Size and Spinnin' have established him as an artist who understands the underground mindset and composition, and his experience spinning in Ibiza each summer continues to globalize his musical worldview.
This week Wharton will return to X Records, Size Records's underground half sister, for his latest release. Out on April 22nd, "Waxed" is a track that capitalizes on the upcoming summer months. Taking hints of crowd noise, and an indelible groove and energy that can only be found in the world's most impressive clubs, "Waxed" takes the notion of a performance and scales it down into an addicting track.
