Highs' full-length debut 'Dazzle Camouflage' is vibrant alt-pop

Toronto-based indie group HIGHS are gearing up for the release of debut full-length Dazzle Camouflage (out April 8/16 via Indica Records). Today, in anticipation of that unveiling, EARMILK is premiering the stream.

In essence, Dazzle Camouflage is a thematic alt-pop offering, one that circles around the semantic meaning behind its very title. The concept "dazzle camouflage" inherently doesn't necessarily aim to conceal, but rather to mislead or disorient by way of bold colours and geometric shapes. HIGHS found themselves fascinated with this notion of 'hiding in plain sight', hence the way in which the LP's eleven track duration feels vibrantly melodic and trop-pop oriented.

Produced by Luke Smith (Foals, Depeche Mode), Dazzle Camouflage proves to be a manifestation of various splashes of colour that take form as melodic guitar riffs, harmonic vocals, and driving percussion. It's all very kaleidoscopic, but that's kind of the point.

Listen below and pre-order the LP (digital, CD, vinyl) via PledgeMusic HERE.
