Back in 2010, quirky indie Japanese duo Tenniscoats released their song "Baibaba Bimba", which was performed live and accompanied by the sounds of metropolitan Tokyo. The song itself is a soulfully sweet listen and organically crafted, with many of the effects caused by what the duo heard as they wandered through the city.
Marcioz's remix of "Baibaba Bimba" is a breath of fresh air which retains the sentimental nature of the original song while adding in inventive touches here and there that will make your ears perk up. Faint echoes of the original song such as the occasional guitar progression, harmonica solo, and the lead female singer's voice are interspersed with segments of violin duetting from Vivaldi's "Spring" from his Four Seasons suite. Marcioz masterfully blends the familiarity of the original "Baibaba Bimba" with his own additions to the song, and the result is a warm-sounding track that has completely reinvented a simple, ambling melody into a more complete-sounding piece.
