After being heralded as a huge talent to watch by many blogs and music sites across the internet, the young Texan artist has been grinding away to provide his fans with the kind of music that stays with them forever. Indeed his Clout EP has sat amongst my top played projects of the year so far since it dropped a short while back. When you couple this, with a successful single that has the internet buzzing with excitement, it's not hard to see why Kiken is trying to keep his feet on the ground and not get too carried away.
The young Texas teenager is back at it again, following on from the highly successful "Always", which has amassed almost 50,000 views on youtube and 100,00 plays on soundcloud. The follow up to this, is the incredibly chilled "Rectify", which see's Dre swoon over the slick, minimalist instrumental produced by DVN. "Rectify" has those early Weeknd vibes, think along the lines of the House Of Balloons era, just a little more wavy. Lyrically, the song sees Kiken describing a bad relationship and the break up between two people, and the downtempo beat sits perfectly with the kind of vibe he's aiming for.
