When one thinks about future bass, they tend to envision hyper-melodies, massive bass, big drops, and plenty of vocal chops. When Vancouver-based producer Ill-esha thinks about future bass, she envisions these spectral melodies that ride and groove, taking their time while making sure to hit in all the right places. Her sound is sort of like a chilled out Pretty Lights with some of the structures exhibited in STS9's electro-jams. In preparation for the release of her Wordless EP, Ill-esha shares the title track "Wordless," which features bass guitar from Kevin Thompson. The track is a triumphant ride on the wings of Falkor that soars and glides effortlessly. It's an electronic voyage rich with diverse instrumentation and just the right touch of bass. The song and her style overall are an impressive take on a genre that is starting to be filled with many copy cat producers. Ill-esha boldly exerts herself in her music and the authenticity is oozing in every measure she writes.
