London-based Benedict Benjamin (former member of UK indie-folk acts Peggy Sue and The Mariner's Children) is today premiering a brand new video for "I Wish Your Lies Were Better" via EARMILK.
The tune, hailing from Benjamin's forthcoming album Night Songs (out March 25/16 via Sugarcoat Records), encompasses 60s-inspired psych-rock, harmonic folk, and dreamy country to together create an offering that is nothing short of compelling. "I Wish Your Lies Were Better" is really both a daydream and a lullaby.
Directed by Anika Mottershaw, the tune's accompanying visuals capture said aimlessness. Proving to be (simultaneously) playful, dark, and humorous, the video at times depicts Benjamin dressed up in Trafalgar Square while at others captures what looks to be an extremely mundane dinner date.
