Say hello to London’s newest shoegaze synth pop outfit, Innerspace Orchestra. As no strangers to musical genius, Tom Furse (The Horrors), Cathy Lucas (Fanfarlo), and Rose Elinor Dougall (Mark Ronson/The Pipettes) came together after a random recording session sounded more like something that shouldn’t be so random. Their debut track “One Way Glass” premiered online and will be released on March 4th via Different Recordings.
The band’s mutual love of shoegaze is ever-present in what Tom Furse’s synths and Cathy Lucas’s instrumentation do for “One Way Glass.” Rose Elinor Dougall’s voice brings this velvety tone to the equation—only leading you further into the story of these swirling melodies. There’s this vintage psychedelic influence, but nothing about it sounds dated. Instead it comes across as a modern, cosmic, and cinematic effect that makes for a very pleasing listening experience.
