Talib Kweli & 9th Wonder remind us to "Pay Ya Dues" [Video]

A foreign concept to many, the idea of paying your dues is perhaps one of the most important aspects of building a long-lasting career. We live in a world where artists can become overnight celebrities, but those who ignore the grind generally end up as a one hit wonder akin to the fly by night dance crazes that populate hip hop every year. When it comes to artists who have built their careers by putting in work, Talib Kweli and 9th Wonder should be at the top of any list.

On the aptly titled"Pay Ya Dues," the emcee extraordinaire links up the always nice producer to  create a highly charged jam that'll keep you on the path of success (insert a few DJ Khaled-esque key emojis). The only way to make this already incredible track better is to include Problem and Bad Lucc, two students of the game turned-rappers who have both the talent and the drive to make it big. While the video is nothing to write home about, it's nice to see all of these guys together for one of the better cuts from Indie 500. If you haven't picked up the album yet, make the jump to iTunes and cop it today.
