Hailing from Toronto, Keys N Krates have come a long way since their beginnings in the electronic scene. The trio joined forces with different sets of skills to create one of today’s most unique groups in the electronic world as a “trap band”. Keys N Krates heavy hip-hop influence, catchy melodies and skillful drumming bring the group to the top of the electronic scene with their distinct sound that is constantly evolving with time.

“Nothing but Space” featuing Aqui was featured today in Zane Lowe’s Beats1 Radio show. This track follows “U Already Know”, previously released late 2015 to be on the upcoming EP, Midnite Mass.

The track opens with Aqui’s mesmerizing voice and some fairly emotional lyrics, and with her voice eventually glitched and manipulated, the track flows into the familiar Keys N Krates sound. As the song progresses we are introduced to killer drum patterns, hard trappy drops, and a catchy melody as expected with a Keys N Krates track. What makes this track particularly unique is the poignant layering of Aqui’s vocals in contrast to the hard hitting drum beats. The track emulates the signature Keys N Krates sound we all love, while displaying their growth, maturity and solidity in their music.

Midnite Mass is set to be released January 15th via Dim Mak. The group will quickly begin their North American tour also titled Midnite Mass on January 19th in Burlington, VT. Midnite Mass can be preordered on iTunes and tickets for the tour are available now.

an ideal day consists of wandering a korean supermarket for cutely packaged snacks, stumbling upon instagram worthy neon signage, concluded with me drowning in several down blankets & obsessively sifting soundcloud to find a track that suitably fits my mood.
